The story (Luke 2:8–20)
On the night Jesus was born, some shepherds were looking after their sheep in the fields near Bethlehem. Suddenly an angel appeared, shining bright, and told them not to be scared: he had good news! A Saviour had been born, and they would find him lying in a manger. Then the sky filled with angels praising God. The shepherds hurried into town, found baby Jesus just as the angel said, and went home telling everyone what they had seen.
Memory verse
“Don’t be afraid, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy which will be to all the people.”
(Luke 2:10, World English Bible, public domain)
