The story (Matthew 2:9–12)
After their long journey, the wise men finally found young Jesus with his mother Mary in a house in Bethlehem. They were so happy that they bowed down and worshipped him. Then they opened their treasure boxes and gave him precious gifts: gold, frankincense and myrrh. These were gifts fit for a king! God warned the wise men in a dream not to go back to wicked King Herod, so they went home another way.
Memory verse
“They fell down and worshipped him. Opening their treasures, they offered to him gifts: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.”
(Matthew 2:11, World English Bible, public domain)
